File Opening & Complaints
Receives police reports, public crime reports and complaints from victims of offences.
The File Opening and Complaints section receives criminal investigation reports from the police, crime reports from the public, and complaints from persons injured by an offence other than those for which proceedings are initiated by the state.
The section then prepares a case file from the documents received using the Prosecution File Standard, to ensure that all files are prepared consistently and can be used efficiently by the departments, prosecutors and advocates concerned. The section is headed by a prosecutor and comprises members experienced in administrative duties, providing excellent client service and maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
